I stand naked in the falling snow. Just my lips and dark hair are visible through the gale. They are the unfurling tendrils of a carnivorous flower. The top of a pitcher plant opening, smelling of sweet carrion. I want nothing more than to fully embrace your warmth, a waxed wick in anticipation of the flame. We will smolder and you will be ashes soiling the dusty white powder.
Am I the lure or the fish?
Am I the mortar or the pestel?
Am I the knife or the wound?
Am I the shadow or refracted light?
Am I the needle pressing against the tip of a finger, or the moment it gives?
